Available courses

In this course, you will learn how to create appealing graphics in Adobe Photoshop (such as logos and banners), edit and enhance photos using Adobe Photoshop, restore photos using Adobe Photoshop, and recreate existing works in Adobe Photoshop. Additionally, I will be covering principles and techniques of graphic design, the history of Adobe Photoshop, different types of graphics and file formats, as well as operating system-specific differences between running Adobe Photoshop on Microsoft Windows vs Apple macOS.

What will I need for this course?

- A laptop or desktop computer

Preferably, you will have chosen a laptop or desktop computer with a relatively large display (editing large photos on a display smaller than 14" can be very difficult)

Additionally, I recommend a basic laser mouse, which will help you make more precise selections. However, this is not a requirement, and activities can be performed using most laptop touchpads.

Your PC will need at least 4.00GB of RAM, at least 80GB of hard disk space (I recommend SSDs for faster performance). The minimal processor for running Adobe Photoshop CS6 is the Intel Pentium 4, however, I would not recommend using a processor older than a Core i3 2nd generation. A dedicated graphics card IS NOT required.

Also important, is your operating system of choice. If you are using Microsoft Windows, please use Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit or newer. If you will be using macOS, please use OS X El Capitan or newer. Unfortunately, Adobe CC is not supported on Linux operating systems, so you must have a machine (or a Virtual Machine) with either Windows or macOS.

I will be making all of my instructions and screencasts using Microsoft Windows 10, but will include alternative instructions for mac users.

- Adobe Photoshop

You must purchase/acquire a copy of Adobe Photoshop in order to take this course. I will be using Adobe Photoshop Creative Suite 6, but, if you do not currently have a copy of Photoshop, you will need to purchase a Creative Cloud subscription from Adobe.

I WILL NOT assist you in acquiring a copy of Photoshop, it is solely your responsibility.

- Internet Access and a browser

You will need an internet connection of at least 5MBPS in speed. For your browser, I recommend Mozilla Firefox.

Please do not access this course using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge!
